Each year we strive to do our very best to help others through unusual situations that hamper their Christmas efforts just because we know what it's like to do without. Last year we helped 58 families. In the past we've also passed along Christmas joy to the Blue Island Nursing Home, Courage, Guild House, the Southwest YMCA and to the CEDA School in Blue Island. And each year, after Christmas, we pass our remaining canned food donations to the St. Benedict’s Food Pantry. This year we hope to do as much as last, if not more. We plan to pass food to the Salvation Army as well as to St. Benedict's. We also hope to provide hats, mittens and scarves to the children at the CEDA School.
An Angel's Touch is basically a vehicle. We collect donations of canned food, Christmas gifts, toys, clothing, outerwear, household goods, etc., and distribute them to those in need. We can't do this without the help of our community partners. Each year people, individuals and groups, step up and donate their time, talents and gifts.
Can you help us? Can you donate? Can you adopt a family? We need a few good individuals, families, friends, fraternal groups, or companies to help us out. Inside you'll find a the story of how An Angel's Touch came to be and what we do. Also inside is a list of our needs. Contact information is also provided.
There is an insurmountable feeling that comes with helping others. Please, join us and find out what it is that we feel each year as we reach out to those in need.
Thanking you in advance
Mitch and Georgene
